Women's Lacrosse Falls To Roger Williams, 14-7

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team fell to Roger Williams, 14-7, in a conference tilt at Hempstead Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.) led the way for the Gulls with three goals and two assists.

Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.) added two goals, while Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.) and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) buried solo tallies.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) made eight saves in the setback.

The Hawks jumped out to an 8-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Trailing, 10-3 at halftime, the Gulls held the visitors scoreless over the next 17:43 as Paine, Wendell, and Darrah cut the lead to four heading to the final 15 minutes.

In the fourth, Roger Williams outscored Endicott 4-1 to pull away and secure the 14-7 win.

BEYOND THE BOX 

  • Endicott still leads the overall series between the two teams, 25-9
  • The Gulls outshot Roger Williams 35-29 in the contest.
  • Eighth game this season with five or more points for Napolitano.
