Women’s Lacrosse Upends Framingham St., 14-11

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Framingham State, 14-11, in a non-conference tilt at Hempstead Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.) led the way for Endicott with five goals and two assists. Endicott received multiple goals from Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.), Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.), and Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.).

Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.) and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring with a solo tally.

Defensively, Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.) forced four turnovers and scooped up two ground balls. Smith led the way in draw controls with four.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) made 11 saves in the victory.

Trailing by one at the end of the first quarter, the Gulls' defense tightened up as they only allowed one goal in the next 15 minutes while two goals from Clark and one from Paine gave Endicott the narrow 8-7 lead heading into halftime.

The second half saw back-and-forth action between the two teams as Endicott would open its lead to three before the Rams got one back. Paine scored her second of the game to push the lead back up to three as the Rams once again would cut the lead less then two minutes before the end of the period.

The fourth quarter saw much of the same as three goals by the Gulls opened up their biggest lead at 14-9. Framingham St. would score twice more in the final two minutes as the game finished 14-11.
