Women's Lacrosse Takes Care of UNE 18-3

BIDDEFORD, Maine. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team bested University of New Englanf (UNE), 18-3, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Wednesday night at Blue Bolt Field.

Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.) led the way for the Gulls scoring five goals while Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) both added hat-tricks in the victory.

Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.)Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.), and Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.) all buried two goals. Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.) and Annabelle Gray (Londonderry, Vt.) round out the scoring with solo tallies.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) stopped 11 shots in the win as her record improves to 8-5 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORES 

  • Endicott is now 23-6 all-time against UNE.
  • Napolitano tied a season-high with six assists in the victory.
  • Fourth consecutive game allowing five or less goals.
  • Akins made her 400th career save in the game. The senior is just the fourth player in program history to make 400 or saves in a career.

Endicott (8-5, 4-0 CCC) hosts Roger Williams on Saturday, April 13 at 12 PM. UNE (5-7, 3-2 CCC) welcomes Hartford on Saturday, April 13 at 13 PM.
