Women’s Lacrosse Upends Western New England, 18-6

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Western New England, 18-6, in conference action on Wednesday evening at Golden Bear Stadium.

Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.) and Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.) both had career days in the victory for the Gulls.

Clark notched five goals and dished out two assists for seven points. Her goal and points totals are both career highs, while her two assists tied her career-high (fourth time this season).

Napolitano compiled a career-high 10 points on four goals and six assists. Her 10 points rank tied sixth all-time in program history with four other Gulls.

Annabelle Gray (Londonderry, Vt.), Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.), and Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.) all buried two goals, while Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Grace McAfee (Marmora, N.J.), and Kelsey Sullivan (Nashville, Tenn.) chipped in with solo tallies.

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) got the start and made three stops to improve to 4-5 on the season.

Payton Quirk (Nahant, Mass.) turned away a career-high four shots in 17:21 of action.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 24-6 all-time against Western New England.
  • The Gulls have won 10 straight in the series dating back to 4/9/16.
  • Napolitano's six assists are tied for sixth all-time in program history.
  • Leading 6-2 with under two minutes to play in the first quarter, Endicott produced a 10-0 run that spilled into the 7:02 mark of the third to put the game away.

Endicott (4-5, 1-0 CCC) hosts Nichols on Saturday, March 30 at 3 PM. Western New England (0-7, 1-0 CCC) visits Wentworth this Saturday at 12 PM.
