Endicott Downed By No. 14 Bowdoin, 68-41

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team was outlasted, 68-41 by the visiting No. 14 nationally-ranked Bowdoin College Polar Bears Thursday night inside MacDonald Gymnasium in non-conference action.

The Polar Bears jumped out to a fast start and led 20-8 at the end of the first quarter.

Endicott battled back in the second quarter to cut the lead to four points with 2:13 (25-21) on the clock before heading into halftime, trailing 29-21.

Bowdoin stepped on the gas with a 27-point third quarter and led by as much as 31 with 6:06 remaining in the game.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Freshman guard Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) paced the Gulls with 10 points as she has scored 10+ points three times this season (second consecutive game).
  • Senior forward Sarah Hood (Burlington, Mass.) added eight bounds and brought down a team-high six rebounds.
  • Endicott limited the high-scoring Bowdoin offense to just nine points in the second quarter for the Polar Bears' second-lowest scoring quarter all season.
  • Bowdoin's 68 points was its second-lowest output of the season.

FOR THE FOES

  • Junior guard Kate Kerrigan (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) led Bowdoin with a game-high 17 points.
  • Sophomore guard Abigail Kelly (Bombay, N.Y.) was also in double-figures as she chipped in 11 points to lead a 41-point effort by the Bowdoin bench
  • Sophomore guard Taylor Choate (Nashua, N.H.) dished out a game-high seven assists.
  • The Polar Bears had four student-athletes grab a game-high seven rebounds, including senior forward Ally Silfen (Rye Brook, N.Y.) and freshman forward Maddie Hasson (South Portland, Maine) to join Kerrigan and Kelly.
  • Bowdoin out-rebounded Endicott, 50-32.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-5, 2-1 CCC) will travel to Salem, Mass. to take on the host Salem St. Vikings on Saturday, December 10 at 3:00 p.m.

Bowdoin (7-0, 0-0 NESCAC) welcomes Bates to its campus on Saturday, December 10 at 3:00 p.m.
