Beverly, Mass. –
The Endicott men’s tennis team swept all three doubles matches and five out of six singles matches to hand TCCC opponent Eastern Nazarene an 8-1 loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Gulls, now winners in each of their last six matches, improved to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Lions dropped to 6-6 (2-3 TCCC) following the loss.

At both the \#1 and \#2 doubles matches, Eastern Nazarene battled hard but their efforts fell short as the Gulls walked away with 9-7 wins in both of those matches. The combination of Devon Locke (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) and Zach Arpey (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) won \#1 doubles while Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass.) and Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) claimed a \#2 doubles win.

The final doubles match at the \#3 spot saw Endicott’s Porter Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) and Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I.) beat their opponents 8-4.

Williams did not have as much success in the singles game, dropping his \#1 singles match in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 to Eastern Nazarene’s Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.).   Lions freshman Brandon Lum (Great Neck, N.Y.) nearly pulled off another singles win for Eastern Nazarene but lost to Devon Locke 6-2, 5-7, 15-13 in \#2 doubles.

The other singles matches were handled in straight sets by the Endicott players, featuring a 6-3, 6-1 win for Zach Arpey at \#4 singles. The win made Arpey 8-0 at \#4 singles and 9-0 overall in singles matches.

The Gulls play TCCC foe Salve Regina on Monday, April 4th at 4:00 pm down in Newport, Rhode Island while Eastern Nazarene hosts UMass Dartmouth at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, April 5th.
