Hilton Head, S.C. – The Endicott men’s tennis team dropped its second match of 2011 after being edged by the College of Wooster, 5-4, on Monday morning. Wooster took a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches before the two sides split singles play.

Senior Devon Locke (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) and freshman Zach Arpey (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) were dual winners for the Gulls. Locke defeated Nick Biniker 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 at number two singles while Arpey dropped Paul Thomas in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) at the number four spot. Earlier, the two teamed up for an 8-6 win at number one doubles. 

Freshman Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) accounted for the other singles win with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over John Schulz at the five spot. 

Endicott (0-2) continues play tomorrow (March 15) with an 8:00 am showdown with Illinois-Springfield.
