ENDICOTT ATHLETIC ALL-AMERICA HISTORY

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team boasts back-to-back seasons with an All-American selection as senior midfielder Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) received National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Second Team All-America honors Monday when the 2015 DIII All-American teams were announced.

This prestigious recognition adds to a senior season filled with accolades for Allen as she earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors and was named First Team NFHCA Division III New England East All-Region for the second time in her career, in addition to being a two-time All-CCC First Team honoree in 2014 and 2015.

Allen, a nursing major, is the second student-athlete from the Endicott field hockey team to be named an NFHCA All-American (Emily Sawchuck '15), as she joins 62 fellow Gulls from baseball, football, men's golf, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, men's volleyball and softball to earn this distinction all-time.

Allen was the lone representative of the CCC to be named an All-American and was one of five student-athletes from the New England East region.

In just two seasons playing midfield for Endicott after transferring from Quinnipiac University, Allen finished her career with 53 points on 17 goals and 19 assists to rank first all-time in program history in assists per game (0.45).

Allen led the Gulls with 10 assists in 2015, which was good for third in the conference as she tied for third on the team in goals (7) and had the third-most points (24). In 2014, Allen was second on the team in goals (10), assists (9) and points (29).

Allen registered her first career hat trick with three goals in the team's 7-2 victory over Western New England (09/30/15) and tallied a career-high three assists vs. Nichols on Senior Day (10/31/15).

The Gulls (11-10) completed the 2015 season with a 1-0 overtime loss to UNE in the CCC Field Hockey Championship.
