Field Hockey Tops Nichols, 8-0, On Senior Day

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team earned a decisive 8-0 victory over Nichols College on Saturday afternoon at North Field.

Prior to the game, seniors Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.), Rose Bradley (Pottstown, Pa.), Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.), Kristen O'Brien (New Boston, N.H.), and Taylor Przybylski (South Windsor, Conn.) were all honored for their contributions to the program and the Endicott community.

The Gulls scored four goals in each half to secure its third straight victory (2-0 home/1-0 road).

Bresnahan led the charge in the first half with a pair of goals to give her 11 total on the season, while Allen dished out three assists and potted a penalty stroke goal in the 69th minute to highlight the offense.

Freshman midfielder Meghan Stanton (Newburyport, Mass.) also tallied two markers, while sophomore Emylee Wood (Kensington, N.H.), Olivia Larson (Cheshire, Conn.), and Brittany Bushey (Pittsford, Vt.) all added solo strikes to round out the scoring for the Gulls.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Allen dished out a single-game career-high three assists in the win.
  • Endicott produced a 65-0 margin in shots, its highest total all season.
  • Bradley earned the win (9-9) in goal despite seeing zero shot attempts on cage.
  • Today's game saw Endicott complete its third sweep of a CCC opponent this season (Gordon, Western New England, Nichols).
  • Endicott moves to 19-10 all-time and 15-4 since 2003 against the Bison.
  • The Gulls have also won the past four meetings.

FOR THE FOES

  • Junior goalkeeper Ariana Beauregard (Coventry, R.I.) made a season-high 26 saves in 63:57 of action.
  • Backup goalkeeper Katherine Cotton (Kennebunk, Maine) stopped four shots in 6:03 of play.
  • The Bison recorded five defensive saves.
  • Junior midfielder Jacqueline O'Connor (Palmer, Mass.) and sophomore back Emily Manoogian (Worcester, Mass.) had two defensive saves apiece, while Brooke Marion (South Hadley, Mass.) notched one.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (10-9, 8-4 CCC) awaits the CCC pairings to be released later tonight, but will be back in action on Wednesday, November 4 in the CCC Semifinals. Nichols sees its season come to an end at 1-17 overall (0-12 CCC).
