Field Hockey's Ashleigh Allen and Emylee Wood Earn NFHCA All-Region Honors

BEVERLY, Mass.- Senior midfielder Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) and sophomore defender Emylee Wood (Kensington, N.H.) of the Endicott field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III New England East All-Region First and Second Teams, respectively, as announced today by the NFHCA.

Allen joins University of New England's Nicole Matarozzo and Salve Regina University's Abigail Tepper on the First Team, while Second Team selections Wood and University of New England's Kersey Boulay rounded out the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) representatives.

Allen led the Gulls with 10 assists this season, good for third in the conference. The All-CCC First Team selection was named CCC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and was tied for third on the team in goals (7) and third in points (24). Allen finished her career with 53 points on 17 goals and 19 assists.

Allen registered her first career hat trick with three goals in the team's 7-2 victory over Western New England (09/30/15) and tallied three assists vs. Nichols on Senior Day (10/31/15). Allen ranks first all-time in program history in assists per game (0.45).

Wood, also an All-CCC First Team selection, was tied for third on the team with Allen in goals (7) and fourth in points (16), while adding four defensive saves. Wood is tied for sixth on the all-time program list for career defensive saves (6) and twice scored two goals in a single game this season (09/16/15, 10/20/15).

The Gulls (11-10) completed the 2015 season with a 1-0 overtime loss to UNE in the CCC Field Hockey Championship.
