SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Endicott field hockey team has been tabbed as the third seed for the 2015 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey championship as announced by the Conference Commissioner on Saturday.

The Gulls (10-9 overall) earned the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament after posting an 8-4 record in CCC play. Endicott will travel to Middleton, R.I. to take on No. 2 seed Salve Regina (16-3, 10-2 CCC) on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m.

In the other semifinal game on Wednesday, No. 4 Roger Williams takes on host No. 1 University of New England in Biddeford, Maine at 4:00 p.m.

Semifinal winners will meet for the conference championship on Saturday, November 7 at the site of the higher seed at a start time to be announced.

PREVIOUS MATCHUP: The Gulls and Seahawks split their meetings during the regular season, as Endicott won a 4-2 road decision on September 16, while Salve Regina pulled off a 5-4 win at North Field on October 10. Endicott is 18-3 all-time against Salve Regina dating back to the 2003 season.

PLAYOFF HISTORY: Endicott and Salve Regina have squared off three times in postseason play, as the Gulls have won 1-0 (11/03/04), 2-0 (10/29/05) and 1-0 on penalty stroke following a scoreless double overtime on Nov. 1, 2006. Endicott sports a 1-0 away record versus the Seahawks with its only road postseason matchup the 1-0 win on Nov. 3, 2004 in Newport, R.I.

POSTSEASON HISTORY: The Gulls have made the CCC Tournament in every season since joining the conference in 1999, with appearances in the conference championship in 10 of 16 seasons. The Gulls won ECAC Championships in 2006 and 2008 and hoisted the conference championship trophy with back-to-back wins in 2011 and 2012 to earn two NCAA First Round appearances. Nine-year head coach Jodi Cipolla has led the Gulls to a 113-69 overall record in her tenure and the team is hungry to avenge a 4-3 double-overtime loss to the University of New England in the 2014 CCC Field Hockey Championship.

ENDICOTT (10-9, 8-4 CCC) | SCHEDULESTATISTICS: The Gulls finished the regular season on a three-game win streak and are led up front by freshman forward Sophia Cogliano (Saugus, Mass.), senior forward Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.) and in the backfield by senior midfielder Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.), sophomore defender Emylee Wood (Kensington, N.H.) and senior goalkeeper Rose Bradley (Pottstown, Pa.). Cogliano leads the team with 13 goals (28 points), while Bresnahan (11 goals, five assists) is second on the squad with 27 points. Allen paces the team with 10 assists (career-high) and Wood (six goals, two assists, three defensive saves) has been a strong contributor to the team. Bradley (9-9) has 87 saves, two shutouts and is fourth in the conference in save percentage (.744), goals against average (1.89), and total goals allowed (30).

SALVE REGINA UNIVERSITY (16-3, 10-2 CCC) | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS: The Seahawks finished the regular season with their best record in program history, as the team compiled a 13-game winning streak following a 4-2 loss to Endicott on September 16 until losing the final game of the regular season to UNE, 3-2, on October 31. Salve Regina outscored opponents 57-18 with six shutouts in that winning span. The Seahawks are led by senior forward Abigail Tepper (Foxboro, Mass.) and senior forward Marissa Gagnon (Smithfield, R.I.) who pace the conference with 28 goals (64 points) and 17 goals (45 points), respectively. Gagnon leads the CCC with 11 assists and sophomore goalkeeper Jessie Severino (Branford, Conn.) has allowed the fewest goals of all CCC goalkeepers (26), while she ranks second in goals-against average (1.44) and third in save percentage (.770). The Seahawks are coached by nine-year head coach Jennifer Foster and qualified for the CCC Tournament for the second time since 2009.
