Beech and Giannoni earn conference recognition

Nov. 3, 2008

BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College senior defender Jennifer Beech (Devonshire, Bermuda) and freshman Anna Giannoni (Granby, Conn.) were honored with TCCC recognitions this week as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday. Beech was able to win Defensive Player of the Week while Giannoni took home her fourth Rookie of the Week award of the season.

The senior Beech was honored for making a defensive save in a 6-1 loss to No. 4 Tufts University last Tuesday.

Giannoni scored the lone goal for the Gulls in the closing seconds to avoid what would have been only the second time the Gulls were shutout this season. Giannoni was also honored on Friday as she was named the TCCC Rookie of the Year for the 2008 season. The freshman led the Gulls with 18 goals this season including seven game winners for a total of 36 points.

The Blue and Green take the field on Wednesday as they host the semifinal round of the TCCC playoffs against Gordon College. The game will take place at 1:30 p.m. at North Field on the campus of Endicott. Endicott was able to pull out an overtime win in the last meeting between the two rivals with the Gulls coming out on top 2-1.
