Final Stats

MEDFORD, MA - Junior Brittany Holiday (Wellesley, MA) tallied two goals to lead Tufts University to a, 5-0, non-conference victory at Bello Field in Medford, Mass. on Tuesday afternoon.

The win was the fifth in a row and the seventh in the last eight games for the Jumbos (10-3), who are ranked \#15 nationally. Endicott has now dropped two in a row to fall to 9-5 overall.

The Jumbos controlled the tempo of Tuesday's contest as senior forward Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional) squandered the Gulls only shot on Tufts' freshman goalkeeper Katie Hyder (Winston-Salem, NC). The Jumbos would finish with advantages of 24-2 in total shots and 19-2 in penalty corners.

Tufts pressure was rewarded with a penalty stroke in the 10th minute of play and Holiday converted for a 1-0 lead. Less than three minutes later on a corner opportunity, senior Jennie Williamson (Sudbury, MA) scored her first collegiate goal in her 44th start for the Jumbos, a rocket from the top of the circle.

At the 17-minute mark, senior co-captain Ileana Casellas-Katz (Denmark, ME) deflected in a pass for her 13th goal of the season and a 3-0 Tufts lead.

The Jumbos would continue to control possession in the second half, as sophomore Amanda Russo (Garden City, NY) scored for the third straight game in the 43rd minute to make it 4-0. Holiday's second of the game and seventh of the season, on a rebound, capped the scoring.

Endicott keepers Chelsea DeFeo (York, ME/York) and Angela Ziogas (Pelham, NH/Pelham) split the game in goal, with each playing portions of both halves. DeFeo let in all five goals and finished with 10 saves. Ziogas did not allow a goal in her 29 minutes of play, making three saves. The Gulls also got a nice defensive save from freshman Erin McGurgan (Southington, CT/Southington).

The shutout was the fourth this month for the Jumbos, who have allowed just four goals in seven October games. Hyder made just the one save in net.
