PLYMOUTH, NH - Junior Jennifer Beech (Devonshire, Bermuda/Saltas Grammar) scored the game-winning goal six minutes into the first overtime to lead Endicott College to a, 2-1, victory over Plymouth State University in a non-conference field hockey game at Arold Field.

Endicott controlled much of the play in the first half while Plymouth State responded in the second frame. The squads entered the "sudden death" overtime period tied at 1-goal apiece. Beech's goal, which came following an Endicott penalty corner, pushed the Gulls to 3-0 on the season, while PSU dropped to 1-4.

Endicott nearly got on the board three minutes into the game, but a shot by junior Michelle Berard (Ashland, MA/Ashland) rang off the left goal post. Endicott had several first-half scoring opportunities, out-shooting the Panthers 12-9, before Berard finally put the Gulls on the board with 4:44 on the clock, finishing off a play that was started by senior Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional)

The second half was a different story, as PSU outshot the visitors 12-0. Endicott almost held on for a 1-0 win, but PSU senior Katie Barany (Middlesex, VT) set up sophomore Katie Chase (Goffstown, NH) for the tying goal with just 8:01 remaining. It was the first goal allowed by Endicott in three games this year.

Both goalies had solid games. PSU senior goalie Katie Randall (Portsmouth, NH) finished with six saves, all in the first half. Endicott junior `keeper Chelsea DeFeo (York, ME) stole the show in the second half, making 11 of her 18 saves in period number two.

Endicott returns to action on Saturday afternoon as they host rival Gordon College in the Gulls TCCC opener. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on North Field in Beverly, MA.
