BEVERLY, MA - Samantha Bourgeois (Gardner, MA/Gardner) scored three goals while teammate Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville) tallied a goal and three assists to push Endicott to a, 8-0, TCCC victory over Regis College on Monday afternoon in Beverly, Massachusetts.
It was all Endicott from the start of the contest as the Gulls peppered Regis goalkeeper Elizabeth Kluchnick (Intervale, NH/Kennett) in the early going. It took the Gulls 13-minutes before breaking the scoreless tie, as Megan McBride (Saugus, MA/Saugus) got the ball rolling with a hard shot from the left side on a feed from Chelsea LaClair (Middlesex, VT/U-32 High School) to put the home team up, 1-0.
From there, the Gulls rattled off three goals in the next ten minutes, including back-to-back scores from Bourgeois to extend their advantage to 4-0. Despite the offensive outpouring from the Blue and Green, Regis' goalkeeper Elizabeth Kluchnick was sturdy, making 15 saves in the first half.
The Gulls came out firing in the second stanza, netting their fifth goal of the afternoon just 22-seconds into the second frame. Freshman Nichole Engel (Freeport, ME/Freeport) took a slick cross-goal pass from Rheaume and beat Kluchnick with a hard one-timer for the score.
Bourgeois completed her hat-trick bid in the 47th minute as she, too, buried a one-timer on a feed from Rheaume, giving the Gulls a 7-0 lead. Endicott would cap off the scoring just over a minute later as Lindsey Mills (Arlington, MA/Arlington) got in on the scoring action, finding the back of the net on a third rebound attempt to propel the Gulls to the 8-0 win.
The Gulls held a dominating, 41-1, shots advantage. Regis goalkeeper Elizabeth Kluchnick made 23 saves in the losing effort.
The victory improves Endicott's overall record to 7-3 and earns them a much needed TCCC win. Regis falls to 0-14 on the season and 0-6 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. Endicott returns to action on Thursday night as they travel to take on Fitchburg at 7:00 PM. Regis retakes the field on Tuesday as they square-off with St. Joseph's of Maine at 4:00 PM.
