BEVERLY, MA - Sarah Feugill (Derry, NH/Pinkerton Academy) and Amanda Lester (Columbia, CT/Windham) each tallied two goals apiece to lead New England College to a, 4-1, win over the Gulls on Senior Day in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Feugill put the Pilgrims on the board just three minutes into the contest as she took a feed from Amanda Lester off a penalty corner and beat Endicott goalkeeper Chelsea DeFeo (York, ME/York) for the 1-0 lead.
Lester got back into the scoring action with just under twenty minutes to play in the first half, notching an unassisted tally to double the visitor's lead to 2-0. With the Endicott defense still regrouping after the goal, Lester gave NEC a three goal cushion as she notched her second goal of the game just over a minute later, sending the Pilgrims into the intermission with a commanding 3-0 lead.
Endicott and New England College played a fairly even second half, as the Gulls came out of the break with more heart and determination than in the first. A back-and-forth thirty minutes of action eventually yielded a fourth goal for NEC. Sarah Feugill capped off the Pilgrims' scoring as she buried a pass from Amanda Lester into the Endicott goal.
Endicott got on the board 14-seconds later as Joanne Reid (Clarksville, MD/River Hill) found the back of the net to end the game, 4-1.
New England College was paced by Amanda Lester's two goals and two assists for a game-high six points. Sarah Feugil added the other two NEC goals while goalkeeper Mary Roux (Auburn, MA/Auburn) made five saves in the win.
The win improves the Pilgrims to 11-6 overall and 6-1 in TCCC play. The Gulls fall to 9-4 and 3-4 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. Endicott gets back to work on Tuesday as they travel to Medford, Mass. for a non-conference match-up with the Jumbos of Tufts University.
