SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – With the 2016 season set to kick off in five days, the Endicott women's volleyball team was selected to finish second by the coaches in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason poll as was announced by the Conference Office on Wednesday.
The Gulls received 84 points towards the poll to finish second behind reigning CCC champion Roger Williams (98 points, 6 first place votes), while Endicott edged out cross-town rival Gordon (83 points, 1 first place vote) to round out the top three.
Picked to finish fourth was Salve Regina (63), as Western New England (62) closed the top five. The University of New England (54), Wentworth (37), Curry (31), Eastern Nazarene (22) and Nichols (16) completed the remainder of the poll.
Endicott (24-10, 6-2 CCC in 2015), opens up its 2016 season at the Brandeis Invitational this Friday and Saturday. The first home contest for the Gulls is against the Vikings of Salem State on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.
