McIntyre First to Earn AVCA DIII Honorable Mention All-American Honors in Program History

ENDICOTT ATHLETIC ALL-AMERICAN HISTORY

LEXINGTON, Ky.- Endicott women's volleyball junior Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) became the first student-athlete in program history to receive AVCA DIII Honorable Mention All-American honors on Tuesday as the 2015 DIII All-American teams were announced. 

McIntyre, who was earlier was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year and All-CCC First Team, became the first member in program history to earn AVCA All-Region honors last week. The outside has enjoyed her best season in an Endicott uniform in 2015, posting career bests in kills (346), kills per set (2.75), hitting percentage (.213), digs per set (2.83), points (411.5) and points per set (3.3).

The San Diego native performed at her best against top competition as she hit at a .242 clip against regionally ranked opponents while averaging 3.40 kills per set and 3.35 digs per set. A primary passer for the Gulls, McIntyre received at a .924 clip for the entire season while producing a .956 average against the regionally ranked foes. McIntyre recently led the women to the first ever ECAC DIII New England title in program history as the Gulls swept Anna Maria and MCLA in the tournament.

McIntyre joins field hockey's Emily Sawchuck ('14) and softball's Robyn Savitski ('07) as the only female student-athletes to receive athletic All-American honors in Endicott College history.
