SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Endicott women's volleyball team saw Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) and Cydney Pierce (Santa Barbara, Calif.) earn Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly honors for their performance over the week ending October 31, as announced earlier today by the conference office.
For McIntyre, the Co-Player of the Week honor is her third of the season as she had previously received the distinction on September 15 and October 12. McIntyre hit .316 for the week as she led the Gulls to a 3-0 record that included a 3-1 win over Salve Regina on the road and a 3-0 sweep of Eastern Nazarene. Over the three matches, McIntyre averaged 3.60 kills per set and 2.70 digs per set which was highlighted by a double-double against Salve Regina with 12 kills and 13 digs, and then a 10 kill effort and a 14 kill effort against Eastern Nazarene and St. Joseph's (Conn.), respectively.
For Pierce, the libero also earned her third weekly honor of the season as she previously earned the honor on September 21 and October 5. Pierce averaged 4.80 digs per set for the 3-0 Gulls as her efforts helped Endicott eclipse the 20-win plateau as Endicott finished regular season play with a 21-9 (6-2 CCC) record. The California native notched 26 digs in the 3-1 win over Salve Regina and added 14 and eight digs respectively against Eastern Nazarene and St. Joseph's (Conn.).
McIntyre, Pierce and the Gulls are back in action on Tuesday when they play host to the University of New England (UNE) for the CCC Quarterfinals at 7:00 p.m. Endicott hosts as they received the No. 3 seed in the tournament while UNE enters as the No. 6 seed.
