2015 AVCA DIII ALL-REGION TEAMS

ENDICOTT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-REGION HISTORY

LEXINGTON, Ky.- For just the second time in program history, the Endicott women's volleyball team has placed two student-athletes on AVCA All-Region teams as Tori McIntyre (San Diego, Calif.) was named to the AVCA DIII All-New England Team and and Cydney Pierce (Santa Barbara, Calif.) was named AVCA DIII All-New England Honorable Mention. McIntyre's All-Region Team nod is the first in Endicott women's volleyball history as the junior outside has become a dominant fixture for the Gulls.

McIntyre, who was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year and First Team All-CCC last week, has enjoyed her best season in an Endicott uniform in 2015, posting career bests in kills (375), kills per set (2.78), hitting percentage (.219), digs per set (2.73), points (397.5) and points per set (3.3). The San Diego native performed at her best against top competition as she hit at a .242 clip against regionally ranked opponents while averaging 3.40 kills per set and 3.35 digs per set. A primary passer for the Gulls, McIntyre received at a .924 clip for the entire season while producing a .956 average against the regionally ranked foes. With the ECAC DIII New England Championships still to come, McIntyre currently sits 63 kills shy of 1,000 for her career as just a junior.

For Pierce, the sophomore has enjoyed a breakout campaign as she becomes the sixth woman to receive AVCA All-New England Honorable Mention honors. Pierce is now the fourth Endicott libero to earn the distinction, joining Erika Trudon (Coventry, Conn.), Ashley Norley ('13), and Brittany Nolan ('09). Pierce was a fixture in the Endicott defense, producing a team-best 569 digs as she averaged 4.70 digs per set on the season, also a team-best. Her 569 digs with the ECAC DIII New England Tournament still to go is the fifth best single-season performance in Endicott history. Like McIntyre, Pierce's numbers against regionally ranked opponents topped her season averages as she posted 4.79 digs per set against the elevated competition.

The duo lead the Gulls into the ECAC DIII New England Championships this weekend as the top-seeded Gulls take on the No. 4 seed Anna Maria Saturday morning with the winner advancing to take on the winner of No. 2 MCLA and No. 3 Lesley that afternoon.
