Pierce Named Corvias ECAC DIII New England Libero of the Week for Week Ending Sept. 20

CORVIAS ECAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (ENDING SEPT. 20)

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week for the week ending September 20, and Endicott's Cydney Pierce (Santa Barbara, Calif.) has been named DIII New England Libero of the Week.

This marks the sixth time in program history that an Endicott player has received a weekly award from the ECAC, joining current teammates Lauren Sheehan (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) Erika Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) as the only active players to have received the honor.

A sophomore, Pierce averaged 4.58 digs per set in a 3-2 week for the Gulls. The libero topped the 20-dig plateau in two Endicott victories, as she registered 22 digs in a 3-1 victory over Kean University and 21 digs in a 3-2 triumph over Stevens Institute of Technology. She was the only Gull named to the Stevens Institute of Technology All-Tournament team.

Pierce and the Gulls are back in action tonight when they travel host to Salem State for a 7:00 p.m. start before returning home to host Wentworth on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
