ALL-CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Seven members of the Endicott women's tennis program have received postseason honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), as announced by the league earlier today.

Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) and Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) headlined the group as Hoover received CCC Rookie of the Year honors and Rahr claimed the Senior Scholar-Athlete award, respectively.

Meanwhile, Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.), Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.), Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.), Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas), Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) and Hoover all earned CCC All-Conference accolades as well.

CCC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Hoover is the third student-athlete in Endicott program history to claim CCC Rookie of the Year accolades joining current teammate Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Melissa Marrone (2001) on the list. Hoover and Hartman's back-to-back CCC Rookie of the Year honors also marks the first time teammates have won the award in consecutive years since 2010-11.

Meanwhile, this fall, Hoover went 8-2 in singles play (4-1 CCC, 3-1 at No. 1, 5-1 at No. 2) and 7-3 in doubles action (4-2 CCC, 3-0 at No. 1, 4-3 at No. 2) for the Gulls.

CCC SENIOR SCHOLAR-ATHLETE

Rahr is the second student-athlete in Endicott program history to earn CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete honors joining Jamie Zompa '17 (Marlborough, Mass.) in the record books.

Rahr, who has been a solid four-year contributor for Endicott on the court, has impressed even more so off of it. The mathematics major currently holds a 3.95 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and is a member of the Endicott Scholars Honor Program. She also has been recognized on the Dean's List every semester at Endicott and has earned CCC Academic All-Conference team honors in 2016 and 2017.

Along with those honors, Rahr, who is minoring in education, has claimed three Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete awards and is a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. Additionally, the senior is a member of the Endicott Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and has volunteered for multiple ALS and diabetes charity 5Ks.

Her internships include stops at Clark Lane Middle School, where she assisted the teacher and aided students in math class, and West Side Middle School, where she implemented an activity-based lesson and analyzed pretest data. She currently is completing her student-teaching in an 8th-grade math classroom at Beverly Middle School.
