BEVERLY, MASS. – The No. 9 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team is looking to build upon last season's success as they open the 2017-18 season with a home contest against Southern Maine on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7 PM.
RETURNING CAST (ROSTER): Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Coach of the Year, Andrew McPhee, returns 22 student-athletes from last year's roster, including leading point scorers Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) (14 G, 6 A, 20 Pts.) and Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) (9 G, 11 A, 20 Pts.). Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.) and Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.), who led the team in assists last year with 12 each also return alongside Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass.), who was the second highest goal scorer with 12 tallies on the season.
Seven student-athletes from last year's roster earned spots on either the CHC All-Conference Second, Third, or Rookie Teams. Those players were Klein, Layo, Meier, Gibbs, Ellen Carter (Roseville, Minn.), Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden), and Nicole Demers (Avon, Conn.).
MARK YOUR CALENDAR (SCHEDULE): After taking on Southern Maine, the Gulls have three home-and-home series against Salem St. (Nov. 1 and 3), Johnson & Wales R.I. (Nov. 10 and 11), and Nichols (Nov. 17 and 18). Endicott finishes out November at the 11th Annual Codfish Bowl which will be held at UMass Boston. The Gulls will face off against Stevenson on Nov. 24 at 4 p.m.

PRESEASON PLAUDITS (CHC POLL): Endicott was picked to finish second in the CHC Preseason Coaches' Poll which was released in early October. The Gulls received a total of 44 points and two first-place votes to finish three points behind defending CHC Champion, Morrisville State.
