Women's Hockey Edged by Bates in 2013 Opener
SALEM, Mass. -- Endicott women's ice hockey took a 3-1 lead in the second period but Bates scored three unanswered goals and emerged with a 4-3 victory on Saturday night at Salem State University.

The Gulls got goals from Jesse Bilafer (Concord, Mass.), MacKenzie Hurst (Gilford, N.H.) and Samantha Parr (Dedham, Mass.), with junior Addie Weeks (Harwichport, Mass.) adding an assist on Hurst's goal.

Sophomore goalie Taylor Witham (Cumberland, Maine) made 23 saves in the defeat, as Endicott's record dips to 3-5-1 on the year, their first as a full-independent club team.

The line of Lindsey Sneider (Gorham, Maine), MaryBeth McMahon (Wilmington, Mass.) and Stacy Tomlinson (Morrisville, Vt.) also had many scoring chances for Endicott, who will be back on their home ice in Salem next Saturday night for a 7:00 pm start against Harvard Business School.
