Gulls Women’s Ice Hockey Scores Split with Smith College
SALEM, Mass. – Endicott's women's ice hockey team played a pair of one-goal games this weekend and split their home and home series with Smith College. The Gulls scored a 4-3 victory at Smith on Sunday afternoon after the Pioneers had taken a 1-0 decision Saturday in Salem.
Jesse Bilafer (Concord, Mass.) scored the first and fourth goals on Sunday, giving Endicott a lead just 25 seconds into the contest. Meagan Hyland (Duxbury, Mass.) scored the first goal of her career and Sam Parr (Dedham, Mass.) also tallied for Endicott.

Goalie Taylor Witham (Cumberland, Maine) recorded 21 saves en route to the win, helped by a solid wall in front of her by the defensive pairings of Hyland and Lexi Bird (Lebanon, N.H.) and Addison Weeks (Harwichport, Mass.) and Sara Ankerud (Groton, Mass.).

Saturday saw many scoring chances for the Gulls by forwards Bilafer, Parr and Lindsey Sneider (Falmouth, Maine). Endicott goalie Gretchen St. Pierre (Colchester, Vt.) had 22 saves and the Gulls played a solid game limiting Smith's chances, but the Pioneers were able to hold on to a 1-0 lead from a first period goal. Smith's goalie Thalia Berard made 33 saves in the victory for the Pioneers.

The Gulls maintain a 3-3-1 record this season. Their final game before the winter break is this evening at 8:30 against Salem State.
