Club Hockey Falls to Salem State in 2012 Finale

SALEM, Mass. -- Playing their third game in three days, the Endicott women's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision on Monday night to Salem State, ending their 2012 season with a record of 3-4-1.

The Vikings got ahead 3-0 in the first period against a weary Endicott squad. The Gulls were able to salvage their only goal of the game thanks to freshman Lindsey Sneider (Falmouth, Maine), who netted her fourth of the year. Kelsey Lutch (Milton, Mass.) picked up the assist, her third helper of the season.

As the first half of the 2012-13 season comes to a close, Endicott is led in scoring by Junior Jesse Bilafer (Concord, Mass.) and freshman Lauren Massey (Waterville, Maine), who each have six goals and have combined for seven assists on the year. Also contributing offensively are Sam Parr (Dedham, Mass.), with five goals and three assists and Sneider, who has two helpers to go with her four goals this season. Addison Weeks (Harwichport, Mass.), Stacy Tomlinson (Morrisville, Vt.) and Lexi Bird (Lebanon, N.H.) have two assists a piece.

Megan Hyland (Duxbury, Mass.) has scored a goal and an assist and MacKenzie Hurst (Gilford, N.H.) has tallied once for the Gulls.

Endicott has had the benefit of great goalie play from two sophomores, Gretchen St. Pierre (Colchester, Vt.) and Taylor Witham (Cumberland, Maine). Witham has posted a 2-2 record this year, while St. Pierre is 1-2-1 on the season.

Endicott wil resume action in a month and a half, starting with a home game against Bates on February 2nd at 7:00 pm.
