BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott College women’s basketball team never trailed en route to a 64-48 win over New England College on Wednesday night in The Commonwealth Coast Conference basketball action in Beverly, Mass. The Gulls improve to 17-6 and 10-2 in the TCCC while the Pilgrims fall to 10-14 and 3-9 in conference. The Blue and Green had three scorers in double-figures including \#Ashley Wright\#’s (Merrimack, N.H.) team-high 13 points.

Before the game, Endicott honored its three seniors as a part of its annual senior night. The Gulls recognized \#Ceciley Chisholm\# (Lexington, Mass.), \#Kaylin Burke\# (Leominster, Mass.) and \#Rachel Hewes\# (Nashua, N.H.) for their contributions to Endicott College and its athletic department.

The Gulls wasted no time jumping all over the Pilgrims as Endicott raced out to a 13-0 lead as \#Ashley Wright\# swiped a pair of steals and scored on the fast break during the run. NEC would fight back into the game when Kendal Wolfson (Lyndeborough, N.H.) connected on a jumper to make it an eight point game, 20-12, with 12:13 remaining in the half. Endicott would respond with a 14-2 run and entered the break leading 37-21.

In the opening frame, Endicott turned 10 NEC turnovers into 14 points while also outscoring the Pilgrims in the paint, 18-8. \#Ceciley Chisholm\# led Endicott with eight points and three assists while \#Kaylin Burke\# added four rebounds. NEC was paced by eight points and four rebounds from Jenny Bronson (Morgan, Vt.).

Out of the break, Endicott started the half on a 21-8 run and never looked back, building leads in excess of 29 points and never leading by less than 16 despite being held to only one field goal in the final 4:58 of action.

Endicott shot an efficient 46.3% (25-of-54) from the field while also winning the battle on the glass, 41-28. NEC won the turnover battle (17-19) but was outscored in the paint, 32-14, while also giving up 23 bench points to the Gulls.

\#Ashley Wright\# scored a team-high 13 points and added four steals while \#Ceciley Chisholm\# and \#Ashley Vitale\# (Wilmington, Mass.) also notched double-figures with 11 points apiece. Chisholm and Burke each grabbed a game-high seven rebounds while Burke also handed out a team-high four assists.

NEC was led by a game-high 16 points from Kendall Wolfson while Rachel Williams (Chapel Hill, N.C.) had an all-around game with 12 points, six rebounds, four assists and five steals.

Endicott looks to wrap up one of the top-three seeds in the TCCC on Saturday when the Gulls travel to Quincy, Mass. for a TCCC matchup with Curry College in the regular season finale at 1:00 p.m. NEC finishes out its 2010 campaign on the road as well, traveling to Boston, Mass. for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off with Wentworth.
