Lauren Misiaszek Named To CCC SAAC Executive Board

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The 2020-21 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board was elected on Sunday (Nov. 8) as part of the most recent committee meeting.

The four officer positions were filled by:

  • President – Allie Welch, Roger Williams
  • Vice President – Brendan O'Connell, Western New England
  • Secretary – Paul Boutoussov, Salve Regina
  • At-Large – Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.), Endicott

The four elected members of the executive board will be joined by the conference's NCAA Division III SAAC representative once selected.

This leadership group will be responsible for establishing and executing the goals for the committee, which is comprised of two to four student-athlete delegates from each member institution.

The purpose of CCC SAAC is to strengthen communication between institutional SAACs and the National Committees to better represent the views of all student-athletes. It serves in an advisory capacity to the conference athletics directors, administrators, and staff regarding policies, procedures, and activities that affect the conferences intercollegiate athletic teams both at the conference and national level.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

"I am very appreciative of the opportunity I have been given to fill the role of President for CCC SAAC this year. This is my third consecutive year as a member of SAAC and I value how hard student-athletes have worked to foster togetherness between teams and schools, which I am excited to continue to strengthen this year with the E-Board. - Alexandra Welch, CCC SAAC President

"I am very grateful that the conference's student-athletes who are part of CCC SAAC have chosen me to be their next Vice President. I did not hesitate to throw my hat into the ring once there was an announcement that the E-Board needed to be filled. I knew that by being part of not only WNE's SAAC E-Board, but on multiple other E-Boards across WNE, I would be able to share all of my leadership experiences and talents to this E-Board and committee as a whole. Being the current President of WNE's SAAC is an honor and I am so proud of the committee's extremely hard work during these unusual and difficult times. I have been part of SAAC since my freshman year and now being a senior, I am so glad to be able to serve my teammates, fellow WNE student-athletes, and now the whole conference's student-athletes. Everything I do and every decision I make is for all of them. I am ready to get to work with this E-Board and committee and I cannot wait to see the accomplishments we make!" - Brendan O'Connell, CCC SAAC Vice President

"Serving on the E-Board is a wonderful opportunity because it allows me to interact more with other schools. Everyone has a different perspective a different approach and it is a great way to generate new ideas. You can always count on a productive and fluid conversation during a meeting. I am excited to see what we can accomplish this year!" - Paul Boutoussov, CCC SAAC Secretary

"I'm super excited to serve on the 2020-21 CCC SAAC executive board. I'm very much looking forward to being able to combine my love of sports with a leadership position where I can have a say in making the student-athlete experience the best that it can be. I look forward to working with all the other board members as well as the athletic communities at CCC schools!" - Lauren Misiaszek, CCC SAAC Board Member
