CLERMONT, Fla. – The Endicott softball team went 1-1 overall on Thursday evening at the Hancock Recreational Complex. In game one of the day, the Gulls defeated Wesleyan (Conn.), 6-0, but fell to Trinity (Conn.), 12-3 (5 inn.), in the second game of the afternoon.
ENDICOTT 6, WESLEYAN (CONN.) 0
Endicott starter Maggie Oram (Lexington, Mass.) spun a gem to improve to 2-0 on the young season. Oram struck out a season-high nine batters while only allowing four hits and two walks on 112 pitches (70 strikes).
Tied 0-0 after two complete innings, Endicott scored solo runs in the third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, before Jamie Hopgood (Warwick, R.I.) busted the game open in the seventh when she launched a two-run homer to left center field to make it a 5-0 contest.
Meanwhile, Hannah Llewellyn (Danvers, Mass.) capped the scoring later in the frame with a single up the middle that plated Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) from third base.
Favreau also put the Gulls on the scoreboard first with an infield RBI single to short in the third, while Peyton Atkins (Goshen, N.Y.) and Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) drove in runs with hard-hit singles up the middle in the fourth and fifth innings.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott is 2-0 all-time against Wesleyan (Conn.).
- Today's game was the first meeting between the two programs since 3/19/2000 (5-2 win in Florida).
- Hopgood hit her second home run of the season.
TRINITY (CONN.) 12, ENDICOTT 3 (5 INN.)
Highlights from game two included a two-run homer to right center field by Hopgood in the first inning (trailed 3-2 at the time) and an RBI single to left field from Misiaszek in the fifth.

- Trinity ended Endicott's three-game winning streak.
- The Bantams are 3-1 in the all-time series versus the Gulls.
