TIVERTON, R.I. — The Endicott roller hockey team defeated UMass, 6-5, in the semifinal round of the Inaugural Roller Beanpot on Saturday evening at the Longplex | Family & Sports Center.
With the win, the Gulls will now play Northeastern tomorrow at 1 PM for the Inaugural Roller Beanpot Championship.
Brian McDonald (Monroe, N.Y.) scored the game-winner at the 5:19 mark on a feed from Justin Stergos (Cromwell, Conn.).
Endicott also received tallies from Charlie Kenyon (Mount Hermon, Mass.), Colby Ciffolillo (Canton, Mass.), Jack Ryan (Scituate, Mass.), George Gatzoulis (Manchester, N.H.), and Stergos in the back-and-forth matchup.
Ciffolillo and Stergos’ goals were both shorthanded.
In goal, Colin Sampson (Newton, Mass.) made 17 saves to move to 6-5-0 on the season.
NOTES
- The Gulls also played Quinnipiac today (L, 3-2).
- Endicott is fourth in the ECRHA DII standings with 12 points.
