BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott College varsity athletics program finished 67th overall out of 323 NCAA Division III institutions in the 2023-24 LEARFIELD Director's Cup Standings, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Athletic Directors (NACDA).
The Directors' Cup is awarded to the athletics program with the most broad-based participation and success in NCAA Tournament postseason competition. Standings for the Directors' Cup are based on a points system that rewards a school's finish in up to 18 sports – nine men and nine women – in NCAA Championships.
The Gulls compiled 278.00 points to rank first among all Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) institutions by more than 150 points (Western New England, 2nd in CCC, 100.00 points).
Regionally, Endicott was 12th overall behind the following schools (overall ranking in parenthesis): Williams (2), Tufts (4), Middlebury (6), MIT (7), Bowdoin (25), Amherst (27), Wesleyan (42), Trinity (45), Bates (48), Babson (49), and Colby (55).
The Gulls finished 67th overall in the Directors' Cup thanks to the following NCAA Tournament finishes (place/points/round): field hockey (17th/25/first round), football (17th/25/first round), women's soccer (33rd/25/first round), men's ice hockey (9th/25/first round), baseball (5th/78/College World Series), women's lacrosse (33rd/25/first round), men's lacrosse (17th/50/second round), and women's tennis (33rd/25/first round).
Endicott's best finish occurred in 2013-14 when the Gulls ranked No. 28 overall (445.00 points).

SCORING SYSTEM EXPLAINED
Overall, 18 sports are counted in the final DIII standings, four of which must be men's and women's soccer and men's and women's basketball. The next highest (14 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
Fall sports: men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's water polo.
Winter sports: men's and women's basketball, fencing, men's and women's ice hockey, rifle, skiing, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's wrestling.
Spring sports: baseball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, women's rowing, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, men's volleyball, women's water polo.
