Men’s Cross Country Earns Runner-Up Finish At Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott men's cross country team finished second overall out of nine teams at the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College on Saturday afternoon.

Franklin Pierce (NCAA Division II) took home top honors with 28 points, while Endicott ranked second with 76 points – besting the rest of the NCAA Division III field by 12 points or more.

Fitchburg State (88), Wentworth (90), Nichols (125), Gordon (137), Emerson (201), Regis (209), and Curry (266) filled out the remainder of the teams in today's invitational.

Caleb Nye (Hinesburg, Vt.) placed fourth overall on the 8-kilometer course in 26:42.7 to lead the Gulls.

Cooper Downey (Hudson, N.H.) clocked in at a personal best time of 27:34.7 to finish seventh overall, while Dawson Romito (Boxford, Mass.), Josh Lehmann (Gorham, Maine), and Dimitri Kontos (Lexington, Mass.) rounded out the top-5 (16th, 28:26.5 | 20th, 29:00.2 | 33rd, 30:02.8).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Endicott averaged an 8k time of 28:21.
  • The Gulls bettered four Conference of New England (CNE) teams today (Wentworth, Nichols, Gordon, Curry).
  • Endicott also placed second overall at the Pop Crowell Invitational in 2022.

Endicott returns to action on Saturday, September 21 at the Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
