Men's Cross Country Edge Gordon To Claim Victory in "Battle Of The North Shore"

WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott men's cross country team took the first three spots to secure victory in the "Battle of the North Shore"  on Saturday morning at Gordon College.

Endicott avenged their first loss in the series last year by scoring 29 points to Gordon's 30. 

The "Battle of the North Shore" meet began in 2017 (Gulls 6-1 in the all-time series).

Caleb Nye (Hinesburg, Vt.) broke the tape at 15:33.18 on the 5-kilometer course to highlight the Gulls.

Cooper Downey (Hudson, N.H.) and Dawson Romito (Boxford, Mass.) finished right behind Nye in second (16:07.7) and third (17:05.3) place. 

Henry Bybee (Hampton, N.H.) and Dimitri Kontos (Lexington, Mass.) rounded out the Endicott top-5 placing 12th (17:56.2) and 14th (18:06.3), respectively.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Nye, Downey, and Romito all set personal bests in the meet.
  • Nye set a new school record in the 5K.
  • Nye secured his first-ever win.

Endicott competes in the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon, on Saturday, September 14 at 10:45 AM.
