Men’s Rugby Hosts Endicott 7s Tournament

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Gulls' men's rugby team hosted the Endicott 7s Tournament at Hempstead Stadium on Sunday evening.

The Gulls went 3-1-0 on the day in matches against Bryant (29-5), Salve (27-17), Providence (29-5), and in the final against Nichols (14-22).

MAN OF THE MATCH

Ian Kearney (Cork, Ireland) — Outstanding play from the man from Ireland across the course of the four games playing with heart and dedication. Led from the front in both attack and defense and made inspirational plays over and over again. A true all-round performance.

TACKLE OF THE MATCH

Scott Turner (Peabody, Mass.) — Up there with the best defensive sequence the coaching staff witnessed in our game against Providence. Scott made a cover defensive tackle on the right wing to stop a breakaway, got up and followed the play, and made a try-saving tackle in the very next phase on the 1-yard line. An all-effort play that turned the game in our favor.
