Men's Lacrosse Garners National Ranking

April 14, 2006

BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College men's lacrosse team was ranked No. 11 in the North Region in the latest NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse National Poll.

The Gulls (9-4, 5-0 CCC) are in first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference standings. Their only losses have come New England Small College Athletic Conference powers Bates (9-0), which is ranked third in the latest poll, No. 5 Wesleyan (8-1), No. 7 Tufts (6-1)and Connecticut College (4-5).

The Gulls defeated No. 9 Bowdoin (6-3) and Amherst College, both NESCAC schools, earlier in the year.

Seniors Kevin Lally (Derry, NH/Pinkerton), Burt Fahy (Needham, MA/Needham) and Ryan Walsh (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) have guided Endicott to its impressive ranking. Lally is the all-time Division III career assist leader as well as Endicott's top point getter. He's amassed 15 goals and 56 assists in 13 games this spring and Fahy has been Lally's main target.

Fahy is the leading goal scorer on the team, piling up 45 goals and 63 points. And Walsh has been the backbone of the team, making key stops and critical junctures to ensure victory. Walsh preserved the wins over Bowdoin and Amherst with big stops down the stretch.

Walsh owns a 7.70 goals against average and .660 save percentage for the Gulls, who return to action Tuesday night when they host CCC rival Gordon College (7).
