Final Stats

BEVERLY, MA - Tufts University scored three goals in the fourth quarter to break open a tied game en route to 7-5 victory over Endicott College Monday afternoon at Endicott Stadium in non-conference men's lacrosse action.

The Jumbos put six different goal scorers on the board to remain unbeaten at 3-0. Michael Hughes' (Branford, CT/Branford) recorded two goals in the victory while Billy Granger (Setuaket, NY/Ward-Melville) dished out two assists.

Endicott saw its record dip to 1-3 - all three losses came to New England Small College Athletic Conference teams - despite Kevin Lally's (Derry, NH/Pinkerton) four assists.

The Gulls trailed 2-1 after one quarter and 4-3 at intermission but Josh Gilbert (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) tied the contest at 4-4 with just over a minute played in the third quarter. That would be the only goal of the quarter for either side as EC's Ryan Walsh (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) turned aside seven shots in the third and finished with 26 stops in all.

Tufts broke the tie six minutes into the fourth quarter on a Connor Ginsberg (New Haven, CT/Hopkins) goal and took a commanding 7-4 cushion with 5:56 to play in regulation on back-to-back goals by Mark Warner (Wading River, NY/Shoreham Wading River) and Hughes.

Endicott answered the Jumbos rally 1:05 later when Lally handed out his four assist to Burt Fahy (Needham, MA/Needham), cutting the lead to 7-5. That would be as close as Endicott would get, however, as Tufts found a way to control the ball and drain the final minutes off the clock.

Tufts goaltender Matt Harrigan (Darnestown, MD/Landon) made 10 stops in earning the win while faceoff man Rory Doucette (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) scored a goal, won nine faceoffs and scooped up eight ground balls.

Endicott's other scorers were Brandon Dube (Danvers, MA/Danvers), Parker Sowles (Cumberland, ME/Kents Hill) and Andrew Harding (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna).

The Gulls will MIT Wednesday (4:00 PM) while Tufts will travel to Roanoke Wednesday (3:00 PM).
