Box Score

NEW LONDON, N.H. - Colby-Sawyer College took a 10-point lead into the half and blew the game open with a 44-20 scoring run in the second stanza to defeat Endicott College, 74-46, in TCCC men's basketball action on Wednesday night. Endicott's 46 points is the Gulls' lowest offensive output since December 4, 2003 in a 64-45 loss to Bates College.

The Chargers (10-8, 5-3 TCCC) opened the game by taking an eight point lead on a jumper by David Rosso (Wilmington, Vt.), putting Colby-Sawyer up 15-7 with 11:41 left in the opening half. Endicott battled back to within three points at the 5:47 mark in the half, 19-16. The Chargers closed the half on an 11-4 run and a jumper by Duncan Szeliga (Newmarket, N.H.) with 0:06 left gave the hosts a 30-20 lead going into the break.

The second half was all Colby-Sawyer as its lead never fell below double-digits. The advantage grew to as many as 34 points when Andrew Ferreira (New London, N.H.) hit a 3-pointer with 3:35 left in the game, giving the Chargers a 74-40 lead.

The Chargers' 28 point victory over Endicott (8-12, 4-4 TCCC) is the largest win over the Gulls since an 82-48 win in Beverly, Mass. in January of 2004.

Leading the way for a balanced Chargers offense was Matt Lemieux (Manchester, N.H.), who had a career-high 11 assists and the first double-double of his career as he chipped in 10 points. Rosso had game-highs with his 14 points and five steals while Andrew Cousins (South Portland, Maine) had 12 points and Szeliga rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11. Ryan Murray (Killingworth, Conn.) led all players with 11 rebounds.

Joey Burgos (Lawrence, Mass.) had nine points and a team-high six rebounds for the Gulls. Freshman guard Mike Rhodes (Amston, Conn.) had nine points in the losing effort.

Colby-Sawyer returns to action Saturday, Feb. 9 with a home contest against Salve Regina University at 3 p.m. on Alumni Day. Endicott will head to Regis College in Weston, Mass. for a TCCC contest at 3 p.m.
