Endicott Sports Information Director Shawn Medeiros Wins CoSIDA Writing Award

CoSIDA FRED STABLEY SR. WRITING CONTEST RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott College Sports Information Director Shawn Medeiros (Fall River, Mass.) was recently named a winner in the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest. 

Medeiros won first place honors for District I for his blog entry on the rivalry between the men's basketball programs at Endicott and Nichols entitled: "The Rivalry You Need To Know About." District I encompasses all colleges and university among all six New England states, New York and parts of Canada.

Medeiros was aided on the project by Nichols College Sports Information Director Pete DiVito, who provided research assistance on the rivalry as a whole, the Nichols' coaching staff and student-athletes, and noteworthy statistics. 

Medeiros has now won three CoSIDA Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest District I awards in his career, which includes two winning entries in the District I blog category.

Submissions for the CoSIDA Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest are open to current CoSIDA members only. Entries considered for this year's awards needed to be written/published between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2017. When reviewing the entries, a panel of three judges follows the criteria of flow/organization, grammar/punctuation, interesting/original, focus/clarity of subject, and video/story correlation (video category only).
