Endicott Athletic Training 2018 Senior Class Finds Success Through CAATE Accredited Program

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott Athletics & Recreation Department would like to recognize its 11 athletic training seniors from the class of 2018 who made an indelible impact on our student-athletes and their respective programs over their four-year careers by highlighting what each student athletic trainer is currently up to. The department, in order of the photo above, thanks Sam Smith, Jonathan White, Kyle Zigmand, Cydney Pierce, Rachel Hanna, Brianna Thorburn, Jen Holman, Gabby Wiggin, Sam Crowley, Tyler Saylor, and A.J. Boyd for all of their contributions towards the Endicott Community and would also like to wish them the best of luck in their current endeavors, which are highlighted below (the list is subject to change at any time).

All 11 seniors were prepared for their athletic training careers through Endicott's CAATE accredited athletic training education program which is instructed through School of Sport Science and Fitness Studies.


Endicott Athletic Training 2018 Senior Class Career Placements 

A.J. Boyd - Currently working as a high school athletic trainer.

Sam Crowley - Obtaining her Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Sport Science from Merrimack College, and also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the school.

Rachel Hanna - Currently working as an athletic trainer at Harmeling Physical Therapy.

Jennifer Holman - Obtaining her Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Sport Science from Merrimack College, and also completing a fellowship with the women's soccer and baseball programs at the college.

Cydney Pierce - Is currently the athletic trainer at Santa Barbara High School and also at the Elite Performance and Rehabilitation Center.

Tyler Saylor - Obtaining his Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg and serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer through Geisinger Health with Wilkes University Football. 

Sam Smith - Completing his Master of Health Care Administration degree at Utica College, while also serving as a graduate assistant at the college.

Brianna Thorburn - Currently working in the Orthopedic Department at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and also as a high school athletic trainer.

Jon White - Obtaining his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Georgia, while also working at the Vereen Center's Sports Medicine program and also serving as an outreach athletic trainer with the athletic teams at Albany State University.

Gabby Wiggin - Fulfilling prerequisites for future plans to go back to school for Occupational Therapy. She also is working as an athletic trainer at Exeter Hospital and with the Exeter Seahawks Youth Football program.

Kyle Zigmand - Has passed his boards and is pursuing opportunities in athletic training.


ENDICOTT'S CAATE ACCREDITED ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAM

Program Overview | Faculty | Athletic Training Staff

Prepare for a career in the athletic training profession through the athletic training major at Endicott.

The athletic training program explores five key areas:

  • Injury/illness prevention and wellness protection
  • Clinical evaluation and diagnosis
  • Immediate and emergency care
  • Treatment and rehabilitation
  • Organization and professional health and wellbeing

You'll gain practical hands-on experience and a strong foundation in the discipline through an intensive educational curriculum containing the necessary competencies and proficiencies established by the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) Education Council.
