BEVERLY, Mass. – In the world of college athletics, coaching trees are often viewed as another means to evaluate a program's success. That theory also applies to the Endicott College Office of Athletic Communications. 

"It has been incredibly rewarding to witness the development of talented individuals from graduate assistants, interns, or work-study students into established athletic communications professionals at higher education institutions or organizations," said Rob Palardy, Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications. "What they learned on the job, the skills they acquired, and the initiative they exhibited were essential in the transformation of Endicott's own internal and external marketing and communications efforts. Today, it is a special experience to see how they are doing the same thing in their respective working environments." 

The Endicott College Office of Athletic Communications follows the College's philosophy of "learning by doing" and allows students working within the office to play a significant role on the daily publicity of Endicott's athletic programs. Any and all students who work in the department as broadcasters, photographers, statisticians, social media influencers, videographers, etc. are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and put a stamp on their projects/positions within the office.

"The most important part of my experience as a graduate assistant at Endicott College was the on the job training I got in the sports information field. I was given the responsibility to serve as the primary contact for several sports, so that when I moved on from Endicott into a director role, I felt confident that I had the skills to lead a department. As I prepare now to take a new step in my career as the Director of Athletic Communications at Amherst College, I will continue to use what I learned at Endicott as a foundation as I make my own mark on another institution of higher learning."

"I was lucky enough to complete both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Endicott College where I was able to work in the Sports Information Department as a student and then as a graduate assistant. Everything I learned from my time at Endicott is seen in my work daily as the Assistant Director of the NEWMAC. Athletic communications is a forever changing field and Rob Palardy is one of the best in the business in regards to keeping up with new trends and innovations. Our team was at the forefront of the Division III college athletics social media boom which forced us to think outside the box and to always be one step ahead. Those lessons have helped me enhance my skills in branding, strategic communications, marketing."

"I attribute my current success at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to my two years along Hale Street employed as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant, while earning my M. Ed. in Athletic Administration. The foundation I built at Endicott has since transpired into a world of opportunity at my fingertips because of the practical and experiential knowledge I acquired that can be directly applied to what I do now as the Assistant to the Commissioner. 

By working at Endicott, I gained a profound appreciation for establishing a better work-life balance and now hold in high regard the significance of cultivating quality culture and cohesion in the workplace. I also became more familiar with the ways in which effective leadership styles, various vehicles of communication, and more innovative technological efforts can create greater efficiency and assist in the powerful influence, captivation, enhancement, and expansion of a global audience. In turn, this has already proved its importance and will continue to do so as I move forward and advance myself personally and professionally in all future endeavors."
