Endicott moves past Gordon into TCCC Semifinals

Beverly, Mass. – The \#2 seed Endicott College women’s volleyball team defeated the \#7 seed Gordon College 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-13) in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Quarterfinals to advance onto the semifinal round. The Gulls improved to 21-14 with the win while Gordon ends their season 7-21.
The Fighting Scots battled hard in the first set, holding a lead on four different occasions before the Gulls finally took over the lead at 19-18. Gordon’s freshman outside hitter Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, Va.) recorded seven kills in the opening set offensive and eight digs defensively to keep the visitor’s in the game. She would finish tied with Endicott’s \#Elyse Barbour\# (Greenville, R.I.) with a match-high 11 kills. 
Barbour’s five kills in the first set helped erase an early deficit and two kills each by \#Amy Grigg\# (Vernon, Conn.) and \#Callie Dolan\# (Westford, Mass.) pushed the Gulls to a 25-19 set win.
In the second and third sets, Endicott carried the momentum to impressive 25-10 and 25-13 wins to take the 3-0 victory. 
Junior Gulls setter \#Sarah Allshouse\# (Berthoud, Colo.) dished out a match-high 28 assists with her counterpart sophomore Jessica Taber (Detroit, Mich.) tallied 20 for the Fighting Scots.
Defensively for the Blue and Green, sophomore libero \#Ashley Norley\# (Sudbury, Mass.) and senior \#Brittany Phillips\# (Sudbury, Mass.) were effective with 16 and 11 digs, respectively. Gordon’s libero Keri Hustus (Eastford, Conn.) led all players with 19 digs. 
Endicott’s middle blocker Amy Grigg inched closer setting the program record in blocks with a solo and assisted stop at the net. She is now four blocks shy of breaking the record (439) previously set by Hayley Janelle. 
Endicott will now face the \#3 seed Colby-Sawyer College who defeated \#6 seed Salve Regina University 3-1 earlier in the evening. The Gulls beat the Chargers 3-2 back on October 5. That match will be held on Thursday, November 4 at 7:00 pm at MacDonald Gymnasium at Endicott College.
