Gulls split a pair on day one of La Verne Invitational
La Verne, Calif. – The Endicott women's volleyball team split their day one matches at the La Verne Invitational against some of the top talent for various regions of the country, after recording a victory over UC Santa Cruz and losing to Schreiner University.

Match One vs. UC Santa Cruz

The Endicott women’s volleyball team opened the La Verne Invitational with a 3-1 win (25-23, 24-26, 25-18, 25-20) over UC Santa Cruz on Friday morning. The Gulls improve to 15-6 with the win and will play Schreiner University today at 7:30 pm (4:30 PST). 

Junior \#Sarah Allshouse\# (Berthoud, Colo.) recorded a team-high 32 assists to go along with 13 dig while libero \#Ashley Norley\# (Sudbury, Mass.) tallied a team-high 15 digs for the Gulls.

\#Brittany Phillips\# (Sudbury, Mass.) paced the offensive attack with 16 kills while junior \#Elyse Barbour\# (Greenville, R.I.) registered 10 kills and four aces. 

On Saturday, the Gulls take on California Lutheran at 5:00 pm (2:00 PST) and La Verne at 10:00 pm (7:00 PST).

Match Two vs. Schreiner

In their second match of the day against Schreiner University, the Blue and Green were handed a 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 16-25, 25-12) defeat to split the pair of games on the day.  

Phillips was once again solid with 10 kills but it was sophomore \#Falyn Torelli\# (Pelham, N.Y.) who led the Gulls with 11 kills.  Barbour was solid again, adding eight kills and four block assists.  

Allshouse added 28 assists to her total on the day and Norley, Phillips, and \#Ally Murphy\# (Gilford, N.H.) each had double-digit digs with 16, 14, and 10, respectively.

Endicott will face California Lutheran University and host school La Verne University in day two of the invitational.  The matches are at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, west coast time.
