Bristol, R.I. – Both Endicott and Roger Williams came into tonight’s women’s volleyball contest with undefeated records in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) play, but the Hawks topped the Gulls 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-22) to take over first place in the conference. Endicott is now 11-6 (3-1 TCCC) while Roger Williams improves to 14-3 (3-0 TCCC). 

Three Roger Williams players recorded double-digit kills and defensively, the Hawks amassed 76 digs as a team to help contain the Endicott offense. 

Rebekah Dion (Old Saybrook, Conn.), Kelsey Twarog (Barkhamsted, Conn.) and Krystie Luczynski (Kensington, Conn.) all had double-digit kill efforts with 19, 13, and 12, respectively for the Hawks. Endicott’s offensive leaders were senior \#Brittany Phillips\# (Sudbury, Mass.) who registered 12 kills and junior \#Elyse Barbour\# (Greenville, R.I.) who added six kills. 

Defensively, both squads were effective on the counter attack but Roger Williams got an outstanding individual effort from Jill Hurd (Sunapee, N.H.). Hurd finished the match with 30 digs, a game-high. Teammates Kelsee Loche (Millis, Mass.) and Marilu Gonzalez-Yanez (Los Angeles, Calif.) also showed effectiveness on defense with 12 and 11 digs each. 

Four Gulls players had double-digit digs with \#Ashley Norley\# (Sudbury, Mass.) recording a team-high 20. \#Sarah Allshouse\# (Berthoud, Colo.), \#Ally Murphy\# (Gilford, N.H.) and Phillips had 15, 11, and 11 digs, respectively. 

Allshouse dished out 22 set assists from the setter position while Roger Williams’ Emily Lebowitz (Coventry, Conn.) had match-high 44 assists. 

Endicott will be back in action this Saturday as part of Homecoming Weekend with a TCCC tri-match with Wentworth Institute of Technology and Western New England College. The tri-match begins at 12:30 pm. Roger Williams hosts a TCCC tri-match of their own with Salve Regina and Colby-Sawyer starting at 11:00 am on the same day.
