BEVERLY, Mass. – After their 5-1 victory over Roger Williams in today's CCC Semifinal match, the Endicott women's tennis team will attempt to win their third straight conference championship when the Gulls meet the tournament's top seed Nichols on Saturday, October 12th at 1:00 pm in Dudley, Massachusetts.

Endicott (10-3), playing in their sixth CCC Championship in the past seven seasons, has won back-to-back conference titles over Nichols in 2011 and 2012.  Both matches were on the road as the #2 seed.  The Bison defeated #5 Gordon in their semifinal showdown 5-1 and currently own an 11-3 overall record.  Nichols came out on top against Endicott during the regular season, beating the Gulls 5-4 on their home court by taking two out of three doubles matches, no. 1, no. 2, and no. 5 singles to solidify the win.

In today's CCC Semifinal, Endicott was able to sweep doubles behind 8-4 victories for both the #1 and #3 positions and a gritty 8-6 win for #2 duo of junior Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) and freshman Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.).  Heacox and Rhodes trailed Hawks junior Alexandra Brown (Kennett, Mo.) and sophomore Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.) late in the match, but rallied as they improved their overall standing to 9-3 on the season.

Needing just two points to advance to the CCC Championship by decision, the Gulls dropped a point to Roger Williams at the #5 singles flight as Hawks freshman Harley Kaiserman (Setauket, N.Y.) won in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 to make it a 3-1 match.

Junior Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine), who earlier won the top doubles match with partner Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.), brought Endicott closer to a finals berth with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Roger Williams' Hillary Dutton (Cheshire, Conn.) at #3 singles.

The final, match-clinching point of the day was earned by Endicott sophomore Brittany Potter (Bedford, N.H.), already a victor at #3 doubles with Suzie Newman (Dighton, Mass.).  Potter battled in the first set to win 7-5 over her Roger Williams opposition Emma Limburg (New London, N.H.) and capped off the match with a 6-3 second set triumph to send the Gulls into the CCC Championship.

Roger Williams (10-4) bows out of the CCC Tournament but is schedule to compete at the NEWITTs on October 18th
