BABSON PARK, Mass. - Matched up against NEWMAC opponent Babson, the Endicott women's tennis team earned wins at #1 doubles and #2 singles but the Gulls falter 7-2 to the Beavers on Thursday afternoon.

Endicott, now 3-2 overall with a 2-0 mark in conference matches, returns to their CCC schedule on Saturday with a home match against cross-town and North Shore Cup rival Gordon.  The match starts at 12:00 pm.

After a loss at #3 doubles, juniors Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.) and Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine) tied up the match at 1-1 with an 8-3 win at the top doubles position.  The Gulls finished doubles play down 2-1 as the Beavers were able to grab a tightly-contested 9-7 win over Endicott junior Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) and freshman Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.).

Heacox continued her hard effort into singles play as she earned Endicott's lone point in six matches, taking the #2 flight 1-6, 7-5, 10-3.  Heacox improved to 4-0 at the #2 singles position in the 2013-14 season.  The remainder of the singles matches were settled in straight sets in favor of the home team.
