WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Endicott women's tennis program was well represented by junior captains Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.) and Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships on Friday on the campus of Williams College. 

Martel advanced past her first round opponent in the singles tournament with a gritty 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 performance over Tufts senior Shelci Bowman (Dallas, Texas).  Martel then faced off against the tournament's top seed Jordan Brewer (La Quinta, Calif.) who competed for the NCAA Semifinalist Amherst Lord Jeffs last season.  Brewer defeated Martel 6-0, 6-0 in their match.  

Heacox was matched up with Wesleyan senior Grace Smith (Chicago, Ill.) and battled her Cardinals opponent to a 6-2, 6-2 loss in the opening round.  

Martel is now 6-3 in singles action this season while Heacox dropped only her second match of the season and is currently 7-2.  Martel, Heacox, and the rest of the Endicott women's tennis team return to their team schedule on Sunday, September 29th for a showdown with Nichols in a rematch of the last two CCC Championship matches.  Endicott is 5-0 in-conference play while Nichols has one loss on their league schedule.
