BEVERLY, Mass. – Two members of the Endicott men's lacrosse have been recognized by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) for their academic prowess as graduate student midfielder and captain Peter Erickson (Yarmouth, Maine) and senior defenseman Breck Merritt (Weston, Mass.) were named to the NEILA All-Academic Team.

Erickson and Merritt are two of 50 representatives from NCAA Division III New England and 14 from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) to be honored for their outstanding efforts in the classroom while excelling on the field of play as well.

Erickson, a captain in his final season in the Blue and Green, sported a 3.68 GPA as a Liberal Studies undergraduate with a minor in International Studies. In his graduate school work in the Endicott Van Loan School for Professional Studies, Erickson has exceeded his undergraduate work with a 3.78 GPA in the Athletic Administration program. On the field as one of the region's top two-way players Erickson, the CCC Short-Stick Specialist of the Year, totaled 19 points on nine goals and 10 assists while scooping 29 ground balls and causing 12 turnovers. Erickson was also named to the All-CCC Second Team in the 2013 season.

Merritt, a 2013 USILA Honorable Mention All-American, All-NEILA Second Teamer, and three-time All-CCC First Team defender, owns a 3.02 GPA as a Business Administration major with a concentration in Management. Merritt caused 34 turnovers with 58 ground balls to lead an Endicott defense that allowed just 8.20 goals per game this season.

Erickson, Merritt, and the rest of the Endicott men's lacrosse team is coming off a 2014 season in which they went 15-5 (7-0 CCC) and earned the program's first ever at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament where they advanced to the Second Round.
