Endicott Cracks USILA Top-20; Jumps Two Spots in Regional Poll

USILA NCAA Division III Top-20
NEILA Regional Poll Week Two

BEVERLY, Mass. - The national and regional pollsters responded to an Endicott men's lacrosse victory over #13 Stevens by rankings the Gulls in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) top-20 for the first time this season and up two spots in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) regional poll. Endicott defeated Stevens 15-11 in their season and home opener on Sunday at North Field to start of the 2014 season 1-0.

Prior to their game against the Ducks, Endicott was receiving votes towards a top-20 ranking in the USILA Preseason Poll but the program's convincing win over a nationally-ranked opponent moved the Gulls into the #20 position for the February 24th release. Endicott appears on the USILA Top-20 ranking for the first time since the 2012 season when they were placed as high as #13 before the season opener.

After being ranked fifth in the region according to the NEILA's Preseason Poll, Endicott jumped up two spots to #3 behind Tufts and Western New England. Tufts is ranked fifth and Western New England 11th in the USILA national poll.

Endicott's next opportunity to rise in the rankings will be on March 5th when the Gulls face off with Connecticut College who is #7 in the NEILA poll. Three days later Endicott will take the NEILA #9 team, Eastern Connecticut State. Both games are on the road.
