NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Interactive Bracket

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Selection Committee looked kindly upon the accomplishments of the Endicott men's lacrosse team this spring as the Gulls were awarded an at-large bid for the 2014 NCAA Division III Tournament and will take on Little East Conference (LEC) champions Keene State at Endicott Stadium on Wednesday, March 7th. More details regarding game time and ticket prices will be available as soon as it becomes available.

Endicott (14-4), despite not earning the automatic bid from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), was still named to the field of 30 after posting an undefeated regular season record against conference opponents (8-0) and registering marquee non-conference wins over #13 Stevens, Connecticut College, Eastern Connecticut State, Middlebury, and Bowdoin.

Keene State (10-6) became 13-time LEC champions after defeating Eastern Connecticut 12-8 on Saturday to earn an automatic qualifying bid into the tournament. The Owls were perfect in conference contests, going 7-0, and scored an impressive 12-10 season opening win over Western New England who were ranked #12 in the country at the time. Keene State comes into Wednesday's NCAA First Round game riding a nine-game winning streak.

Endicott rosters the CCC's Offensive Player of the Year in junior midfielder Harrison Cotter (Lordship, Conn.), who had a career-year with 68 points on 55 goals and 13 assists, and the CCC Defensive Player of the Year in sophomore goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) who sported an 8.06 goals against average with 178 saves (.584). CCC Rookie of the Year Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) tallied 65 points in his freshman campaign while short-stick specialist of the year and captain Peter Erickson (Yarmouth, Maine) played standout two-way lacrosse throughout the season to lead Endicott.

The Gulls own the nation's ninth-best scoring offense (14.81 goals per game), rank 20th in scoring defense (6.75 goals per game), lead all NCAA DIII schools with just 13.44 turnovers per game, and are 12th in clearing percentage (.884).

Endicott and Keene State have met four times in either program's history with the Blue and Green owning a 3-1 advantage. Their last game, however, came nine years ago in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament when Endicott defeated Keene State 11-10 on the road for the program's first NCAA victory.

Historically in the NCAA Tournament, Endicott is 3-7 with wins coming in 2005 (at Keene State), 2010 (at Montclair State), and 2011 (vs Springfield). This will be their third home NCAA Tournament game in program history having previously done so in 2006 (L 10-13 vs St. Lawrence) and 2011 (W 6-5 vs Springfield).
