BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman inside linebacker William Rivera (Orangeburg, N.Y.) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North Defensive Rookie of the Year by the league office.
In his freshman campaign with the Gulls, Rivera tied for the team lead in tackles with 54 total (36 solo, 18 assisted, 6.0 per game), to go along with two interceptions, one forced fumble and a sack.
Rivera also ranked No. 21 in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) in total tackles, No. 20 solo tackles, and No. 22 in tackles per game. For his efforts, Rivera was named the NEFC Rookie of the Year after also earning six NEFC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors throughout the season.
